The short answer

Our pick

FieldRoutes is the best pest control CRM and marketing software for growing route businesses.

It's built for pest and lawn, with marketing automation, recurring billing and route optimization in one system, priced on active customers. It's quote only with no free trial, so small shops should start with Jobber or Briostack instead.

Pest control marketing is mostly about customers you already have. A quarterly general pest customer is worth more each year you keep them, and the cheapest growth comes from adding mosquito in spring, a termite plan after a swarm call, or rodent exclusion in the fall. The other half is stopping the leak: cancellations, failed autopays and annual renewals nobody followed up on. We ranked six tools on retention, upsells and new-lead follow-up for shops of 1 to 25 techs. For routing and billing, see our guide to pest control software.

Our picks, in detail

FieldRoutes logo

Our pickBest overall for pest marketing

FieldRoutes

Route-based platform for pest and lawn companies

3.7out of 5

FieldRoutes is aimed at pest and lawn companies that want marketing to run off their customer data. Because it holds the recurring service history and billing, campaigns can be aimed at the customers you actually want to reach, such as quarterly accounts without mosquito service. Route optimization and recurring billing live in the same system, so a new upsell lands on the right route without retyping. Pricing is quote only, based on number of active customers, with Growth and Corporate plans and no free trial. Users commonly report a learning curve, complex configuration and uneven support responsiveness.

What we like

  • Marketing automation built on service and billing history
  • Priced on active customers, not users
  • Recurring billing and routing in one system

Watch out for

  • No published pricing or free trial
  • Complex setup with a learning curve
Briostack logo

Best mid-size pest platform

Briostack

Pest control software with strong customer self-service

3.8out of 5

Briostack is a pest and lawn platform for small and mid-size companies, with scheduling, routing, recurring billing, bids with diagramming and an offline-capable tech app. On the marketing side it offers add-ons including marketing tools, direct mail and an AI answering service, though none of the prices are published. Direct mail still works in pest control, especially for termite and mosquito offers by neighborhood. Software Advice lists a starting price of $50/mo (a third-party figure, not published by the vendor), and Briostack doesn't have a public pricing page. Users commonly report reporting is less flexible than larger platforms and occasional mobile sync issues.

What we like

  • Pest-specific, with direct mail and marketing add-ons
  • Offline-capable tech app
  • Bids with diagramming for termite and commercial work

Watch out for

  • No public pricing; add-on prices unpublished
  • Reporting less flexible than larger platforms
Jobber logo

Best for small shops on a budget

Jobber

The easiest all-rounder for small residential crews

4.1out of 5

Jobber's Marketing Suite ($99/mo as of October 2026) adds email campaigns, review requests and referral tools to its customer records, which covers most of what a two- or three-truck pest company needs. You can send a mosquito offer to every quarterly customer in April and ask for a Google review after each completed visit. Base plans: Core $29/mo (1 user), Connect $149/mo (5 users), Grow $229/mo (5 users), billed annually. The Pipeline add-on ($49/mo) tracks new leads, and AI Receptionist ($29/mo) catches calls you miss on route. It isn't pest-specific, so there are no chemical logs or device tracking.

What we like

  • Marketing Suite covers campaigns, reviews and referrals
  • Published pricing; 14-day trial

Watch out for

  • Marketing, pipeline and AI receptionist are all add-ons
  • No pest-specific compliance features
Housecall Pro logo

Best for residential lead flow

Housecall Pro

Strong marketing tools and a fast mobile app

4.1out of 5

Housecall Pro includes online booking, review requests and email and postcard marketing in the product, which suits a residential pest company growing through Google and neighborhood campaigns. Plans as of October 2026: Basic $59/mo (1 user), Essentials $149/mo (up to 5 users), MAX $299/mo (up to 8 users), billed annually. Add-ons such as CSR AI and Pipeline exist without published prices. It doesn't have pest compliance tools, and owners commonly report that the better features sit on MAX and support response is uneven.

What we like

  • Online booking and reviews built in
  • Card processing from 2.59%

Watch out for

  • No chemical logs or device tracking
  • Several add-on prices aren't published
Workiz logo

Best for call tracking

Workiz

Built-in phones and call tracking for on-demand service work

3.8out of 5

Workiz is worth a look if your leads come mostly by phone, as they do for one-time treatments like bed bugs, wasps and wildlife. The Genius Phone add-on ties calls to customer records, so you can see which ads ring the phone and what happened to each caller. Genius Marketing and Genius Answering are also sold separately. Workiz moved to quote-only pricing in 2026; there's a 7-day free trial. It's a weaker fit for a book that's mostly recurring quarterly service, and users commonly report occasional mobile sync glitches.

What we like

  • Call tracking for phone-driven leads
  • 7-day free trial

Watch out for

  • Quote only; marketing tools cost extra
  • Not built around recurring route books
FieldPulse logo

Best for commercial accounts

FieldPulse

Flexible job management with solid estimating

3.9out of 5

FieldPulse isn't a marketing tool, and it doesn't list marketing among its core features. It earns a spot for pest companies growing commercial accounts, where the CRM job is account management rather than campaigns: service agreements, multi-site customers, configurable proposals and a customer portal. FieldPulse doesn't publish prices; third-party estimates run roughly $30 to $150 per user per month (not published by the vendor). Phones, fleet tracking and AI dispatch are add-ons, and users commonly report occasional mobile app bugs. Pair it with a separate review or email tool if you want campaigns.

What we like

  • Service agreements and proposals for commercial bids
  • Customer portal for property managers

Watch out for

  • No built-in marketing campaigns
  • Quote only; estimates vary widely

What pest control shops need from marketing software

Pest marketing is retention marketing with a sales season on top.

Keeping the book. A recurring customer who renews for five years is worth far more than the cost of winning them. Cancellations, failed autopays and lapsed annual renewals are the biggest marketing problem most pest companies have, and they don't look like marketing until you count them.

Upselling the book. Your quarterly general pest customers are the easiest sale you'll ever make. Mosquito service in spring, termite plans after swarm calls, rodent exclusion in fall, and bed bug or wildlife work as one-offs. A CRM that knows which services each customer has lets you send the right offer to the right list.

Winning new accounts. That means Google reviews, referrals, neighborhood campaigns and, for many companies, a summer door-to-door team. New leads need fast follow-up: a homeowner who just saw a mouse calls three companies and books the first one that answers.

How the picks compare

FieldRoutes and Briostack are pest platforms with marketing on top of service and billing data, which is the strongest setup if you can afford the quote-only pricing. FieldRoutes is the better fit for larger route operations; Briostack is aimed at small and mid-size companies and offers direct mail. GorillaDesk is the low-cost pest operations tool, but its marketing features are lighter than these.

Jobber and Housecall Pro give smaller shops polished review and campaign tools at published prices, without pest compliance features. Workiz suits phone-driven, one-off work. FieldPulse is for commercial account management, not campaigns.

What to look for before you sign

  • Segments by current service. Can you pull "quarterly customers without mosquito" in under a minute?
  • Automated review requests after completed visits, sent by text.
  • Renewal and failed-payment alerts with an owner and a due date.
  • Lead source tracking, including door-to-door reps by name.
  • Text and email costs. Some tools charge per message or through credits.
  • Mobile signup that a summer sales rep can complete in a driveway.
  • Cancellation reasons. Make the office pick a reason when an account cancels, so you can see whether you're losing people to price, results or moves.

What it costs

Prices as of October 2026, billed annually.

Shop size Jobber + Marketing Suite Housecall Pro FieldRoutes / Briostack
1 user $128/mo (Core $29 + $99) $59/mo (Basic) Quote only
5 users $328/mo (Grow $229 + $99) $149/mo (Essentials) or $299/mo (MAX, 8 users) Quote only
15 users $498/mo (Grow $399 + $99) About $544/mo (MAX + 7 users at $35) Quote only

Judge the price against retention, not against the cheapest plan. Say you have 800 recurring accounts paying a hypothetical $45 a month, and you lose 2% of them each month to cancellations and lapsed cards. That's 16 accounts, or $720 a month in recurring revenue, walking out every month, and it compounds. If better renewal reminders, failed-card follow-up and a win-back campaign save even a quarter of those, you keep four accounts a month, roughly $2,160 a year in revenue from each month's saves. That covers a Marketing Suite many times over. The same logic applies to upsells: 40 quarterly customers adding a hypothetical $60-a-month mosquito plan for a six-month season is $14,400 of revenue from people who already trust you.

FieldRoutes prices by active customers, so ask for quotes at your current count and at the count you expect in two years. Briostack, Workiz and FieldPulse are also quote only.

Questions owners ask

What is the best marketing software for a small pest control company?

For one to three trucks, Jobber with its $99/mo Marketing Suite covers review requests, email campaigns and referrals at a published price. GorillaDesk is a cheaper route-based option for operations and billing, though its marketing tools are lighter. Once you're past a thousand or so recurring accounts, FieldRoutes' marketing automation becomes worth the quote-only price.

How do pest control companies upsell existing customers?

The common plays are seasonal: mosquito offers in spring, termite inspections after swarm season starts, rodent exclusion in fall. Target quarterly customers who don't have the add-on, send the offer by email or text, and have techs mention it on the visit. A CRM that knows each customer's current services makes the list in minutes.

How can I reduce pest control cancellations?

Most cancellations come from three places: failed autopays nobody chased, customers who feel the service isn't working, and annual renewals that lapse. Set up automatic retries and alerts for declined cards, schedule free re-services quickly when customers complain, and send renewal reminders 30 days out. A short win-back offer to recently cancelled customers recovers some of the rest.

Do pest control door-to-door sales teams need special software?

Summer sales teams need a fast way to sign customers on a phone, take a card and drop the account onto a route. FieldRoutes and Briostack are built around recurring pest accounts, which makes that handoff smoother than in a general tool. Whatever you use, test the signup flow on a phone in bright sun before the season starts.
