About BlueCollarStacks
BlueCollarStacks is an independent review site for the software small trade and home-service businesses run on: scheduling, dispatch, quoting, invoicing, payments, payroll and the rest.

What BlueCollarStacks is
BlueCollarStacks publishes reviews, comparisons, buying guides and free tools for the software used by US trade and home-service businesses. That covers field service management platforms, CRMs, estimating and quoting tools, invoicing and payments, scheduling and dispatch, accounting, payroll, insurance and the trade-specific tools built for one kind of work.
We write for shops with roughly 1 to 25 technicians: the HVAC owner reading between calls, the cleaning-company owner sorting out next week's schedule after dinner, the office manager who got handed "find us new software" on top of everything else. Most of these businesses can't afford a consultant and have already sat through a few sales demos that answered every question except "what will this actually cost us?"
So that's where we start. Every review spells out real prices from the vendor's own pricing page, dated, along with extra-user costs, add-ons and card processing fees that change the monthly bill. If a vendor only gives quotes, we say so instead of guessing.
Who it's for
The site is organized two ways, because owners shop two ways:
- By trade: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, landscaping and lawn care, pest control, pool service, roofing, remodeling and other home-service trades. Each trade has different needs. An HVAC shop lives on maintenance agreements and flat-rate pricebooks; a lawn company lives on recurring routes and skip notices; a pest company has chemical application records to keep.
- By job: field service management, CRM, estimating, invoicing, scheduling, payroll and so on, for owners who already know which problem they need to solve.
We also publish startup and pricing guides, calculators and templates for the business side of running a shop.
How we stay independent
No vendor pays to be reviewed, ranked or recommended on BlueCollarStacks, and no vendor sees a review before it's published or gets to change it afterward.
Rankings are our honest judgment of what fits the buyer each page is written for. A tool that's right for a 15-tech HVAC shop may be the wrong pick for a solo house cleaner, and the pages say so. Every pick comes with real cons, because every tool has them.
We evaluate every product the same way: against five everyday scenarios (create a job, schedule it, dispatch it, invoice it, take payment), with the same scoring weights on every review. Our How We Review page explains the method, the sources we use and how scores are weighted.
How we make money
BlueCollarStacks earns money through affiliate commissions. Some links on the site, the ones that go through a /go/ address, are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for a product, the vendor may pay us a commission. It doesn't cost you anything extra.
We never rank by payout. Commissions don't affect which tools we include, how they're scored or where they appear on a list. Tools without an affiliate program are reviewed and ranked the same way as tools with one. The full details are on our affiliate disclosure page, linked in the site footer.
We don't sell sponsored reviews, paid placements or "featured" spots.
Who writes it
Articles on BlueCollarStacks are published under the byline BlueCollarStacks Editorial. Our writing is based on published vendor pricing and feature pages, product documentation and help centers, free trials where vendors offer them, and patterns in public user reviews. When we say a vendor does something, we attribute it to the vendor. When we report what users say, we describe common themes rather than quoting individuals.
Corrections
Software prices and plans change often, and we'd rather fix a mistake quickly than defend it. If you see a price that's changed, a feature on the wrong plan, or something you think is unfair or wrong, use the contact email in the site footer. Tell us the page and what you think needs fixing. We check every correction against the vendor's current published information and update the page, and its "updated" date, when it's warranted.
Vendors are welcome to send corrections too. The same rule applies: we update facts that are wrong, not opinions a vendor doesn't like.
