Jobber Review: Pricing, Features & Verdict

Jobber is the easiest good choice for a residential crew of 1 to 10 people. It gets expensive once you stack users and add-ons, and it is light on inventory and flat-rate pricing.

Our verdict

Jobber is the best all-round pick for residential crews of 1 to 10 people.

Jobber does the money side of a small service business well: quotes that close, automatic follow-ups, card-on-file billing and clean QuickBooks Online sync from Connect up. Most 2-to-8-person crews will land on Grow at $229/mo billed annually for 5 users. HVAC and plumbing shops past 10 trucks that run flat-rate pricebooks and memberships will outgrow it. If you want to compare it against every serious option first, start with our roundup of field service management software.

Jobber is the field service app we'd hand most small residential crews first: quoting that looks professional, a client hub customers actually use, and prices you can read without booking a sales call. It also got more complicated in 2026. The plans are now Core, Connect, Grow and Plus, each priced by user bracket and by how long you commit. This review covers how Jobber handles scheduling, quotes, payments and the mobile app, what it costs for 1, 5 and 15 users as of October 2026, and where owners most often say it comes up short.

What Jobber is

Jobber is a job-management app for home-service businesses. It holds your customer list, builds quotes, schedules visits, sends invoices and collects payment, with a mobile app for the crew and a web dashboard for the office. It started in Edmonton, Alberta in 2011 and grew up around lawn care, cleaning and handyman work before pushing into HVAC, plumbing and electrical.

That history shows. Jobber is strongest at the front half of a job: taking the request, sending a quote that looks like it came from a bigger company, getting the yes, and getting paid. It is lighter on the back-office work that larger mechanical shops care about, like stock on trucks, flat-rate pricebooks and job costing across a dozen techs.

The 2026 restructure matters if you're reading older reviews. The plans are now Core, Connect, Grow and Plus. Each is priced by user bracket (1, 5, 10 or 15 users) and by billing term: no commitment, a one-year commitment billed monthly, or paid annually up front. Prices in reviews written before 2026 won't line up with what you see at checkout, and plan names like "Grow" don't mean what they used to.

Scheduling and dispatch

The scheduler is a drag-and-drop calendar with day, week and map views. You create a job, set it as one-off or recurring, assign it to one or more people, and the visits land on their phones. For a lawn crew running the same 60 properties every week, or a cleaning company with biweekly regulars, recurring jobs are where Jobber earns its fee. You set the frequency once and visits keep generating until the contract ends. A spring HVAC tune-up program works the same way: one recurring job per agreement customer, two visits a year.

Route optimization reorders a day's stops to cut drive time, and GPS tracking shows where your people are. Online booking lets customers request work from your website, and those requests land in a queue for the office to approve and schedule, so nobody books a 2-hour drain job into a 30-minute gap.

A few scheduling features depend on the plan. According to Jobber's pricing page:

  • Automated visit reminders to customers start on Connect.
  • Two-way texting with customers starts on Grow.
  • Crew scheduling and team @mentions are Plus features.

What the dispatch side doesn't have is the kind of board a 12-truck HVAC company runs on a July Monday when 40 no-cool calls come in before 9 a.m. There's no skills-based assignment, no capacity planning by job type, and no call booking tied into your phone system with caller ID pulling up the customer record. A good office manager can run that day from Jobber's calendar. ServiceTitan is built for it.

Quotes and invoices

Quoting is Jobber's best feature, and it's the reason a lot of owners pick it. A quote can include photos, line items from your products and services list, and optional line items the customer can tick on or off. That's a simple way to offer a standard tune-up with an optional surge protector, or weekly mowing with optional aeration in the fall, and let the customer upsell themselves. On Grow, quotes can carry richer visuals and, with the Reviews add-on, your customer reviews.

Customers approve quotes in the client hub and can pay a deposit there. The approved quote turns into a job without anyone retyping it.

Connect adds automatic follow-ups on quotes and invoices. Owners underestimate this one. A quote that gets a polite nudge two days later closes more often than one that sits in an inbox under a pile of promo emails, and nobody in your office has time to remember which 14 quotes went out last Tuesday. On Core you're doing those follow-ups by hand.

Invoices pull from the job, so line items, visits and changes carry over. Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online starting on Connect. Core doesn't include the sync, which pushes most owners with a bookkeeper to Connect at minimum.

Where quoting is thin: there's no true flat-rate pricebook in the HVAC and plumbing sense, with task codes, labor and materials baked into one price and good-better-best options built from the book. You can get close with a well-organized services list and optional line items. Shops that already sell on flat-rate tend to find that workable for a while and then frustrating.

Payments

Jobber Payments handles cards, Tap to Pay on a phone, and ACH bank transfers. As of October 2026, Jobber lists these rates:

Payment type Rate
Card (online or keyed) 2.9% + 30¢
Tap to Pay 2.7% + 30¢
ACH bank payment (US) 1%
Instant payout additional 1%

Those card rates are normal for the industry, not cheap. Say you collect $40,000 a month by card across 120 invoices. That's $1,160 in percentage fees plus $36 in per-transaction fees, about $1,196 a month. Bigger tickets are where ACH pays off: a $3,000 water heater replacement paid by card costs you $87.30 in fees, and by bank transfer it costs $30.

Connect adds automatic payment collection, which is card-on-file billing for recurring customers. If you run a pool route or lawn route that bills 80 customers every month, that single feature can save a full day of chasing payments each billing cycle. Deposits on approved quotes work through the same system, which helps on jobs where you're buying equipment before the install date.

Client hub and online booking

The client hub is a customer-facing page where your customers see their quotes, approve them, check upcoming visits, pay invoices and request new work. It's one of the things public reviews mention most often when owners explain why they stayed with Jobber.

The practical effect is fewer phone calls about things that aren't jobs: "Did you get my payment," "When are you coming," "Can you resend that invoice." For a one-person office, that's real time back.

Core also includes a basic website builder and online booking. If you don't have a website yet, that's a reasonable starting point. If you already have one, you can embed the booking form instead.

Mobile app

The Jobber app runs on iOS and Android. Techs see their day, get directions, check in and out of visits, add notes and photos, collect signatures and take payment on site. Job checklists (useful for a standard 21-point maintenance or a move-out clean) come with Connect.

Time tracking also depends on plan. Connect tracks time and expenses, Grow adds automatic time tracking, and Plus adds automatic expense capture. Plus also lists unlimited photo and video storage per job, which matters if you document every roof, crawlspace or water-damage job.

Public reviews on G2, Capterra and the app stores are generally positive about how fast new techs pick up the app. That matters if your crew turns over every spring. The complaints owners raise are mostly about what Jobber doesn't do, such as inventory and detailed costing, rather than about the app being hard to use.

Setup, support and integrations

Jobber is one of the few tools in this category a small shop can set up without a consultant. A typical first week looks like this: import your customer list from a spreadsheet or your old system, build your products and services list with prices, set up quote and invoice templates with your logo, connect payments and QuickBooks Online, then add your techs. A 3-person crew can be quoting from it inside a few evenings. A 10-person shop with years of customer history should plan on a couple of weeks of cleanup, mostly fixing duplicate customers and old service addresses.

Support quality is harder to judge from the outside, but public reviews are generally kinder about Jobber's support than about most of its direct competitors. Plus is the only plan that lists dedicated onboarding and Premium Support. On the lower plans you're working from help articles, chat and the standard support queue, which is fine for a small shop and thin for a 15-person rollout.

Jobber's pricing page says every plan gets access to a marketplace of 100-plus connected tools. The QuickBooks Online sync is the one most owners care about. Beyond that, check the specific app you need (a payroll tool, a review platform, your phone system) is listed before you commit, rather than assuming.

How it fits by trade

Lawn care and landscaping. This is Jobber's home turf. Recurring weekly visits, route optimization, card-on-file billing and quotes with optional seasonal add-ons cover most of what a 2-to-6-crew lawn business needs. Fertilization outfits that need chemical application records for state reporting won't find a dedicated log in Jobber's published features and will lean on checklists.

Cleaning. Recurring visits, checklists and the client hub work well for residential cleaning. Move-in and move-out cleans quote nicely with optional line items like inside-oven or inside-fridge.

HVAC. Good for residential shops up to about 10 techs doing maintenance plus repair. Weak for flat-rate selling, memberships with member pricing, and tracking stock of capacitors and contactors on every truck.

Plumbing and electrical. Same story. Service-call and quote-then-install workflows fit. Shops that need permit tracking, parts inventory or commercial progress billing will feel the limits early.

Pool service. Routes and recurring billing fit, but Jobber's published features don't include a dedicated chemical reading log, so you'd capture readings with a job checklist (Connect and up).

Pricing in plain terms

Here's what Jobber charges as of October 2026 on annual billing, per month:

Plan 1 user 5 users 10 users 15 users
Core $29 n/a n/a n/a
Connect $99 $149 $229 $299
Grow $149 $229 $299 $399
Plus n/a $399 $449 $529

The same plans cost more on the other two terms. Grow with 5 users is $229/mo billed annually, $259/mo on a one-year commitment billed monthly, and $299/mo with no commitment. Over a year, that's $2,748 versus $3,588, an $840 difference for the flexibility of walking away.

Extra users cost $29/mo each. Add-ons are priced separately: Marketing Suite at $99/mo, AI Receptionist at $29/mo and Pipeline at $49/mo. Jobber's Plus description says it includes Marketing Suite, the AI Receptionist and Pipeline, but the comparison table marks them as add-ons, so get that confirmed in writing before you pay for Plus expecting them.

A realistic example: a 5-tech residential HVAC shop on Grow, billed annually, adds the AI Receptionist to catch after-hours calls. That's $229 + $29 = $258/mo, or $3,096 a year, before card fees. The same shop on no-commitment monthly pays $299 + $29 = $328/mo.

The trial is 14 days with Grow features and no credit card, which is long enough to build a few real quotes and run a week of visits if you set it up on a slow week.

Where it falls short

The bill grows faster than you expect. The entry price is $29, but almost nobody stays there. QuickBooks sync pushes you to Connect, job costing and two-way texting push you to Grow, and the add-ons that sound useful at signup add $29 to $99 each. Owners commonly report this in public reviews: the price they signed up at isn't the price they pay a year later.

Inventory and job costing are light. Grow adds job costing, but there's no real truck stock tracking, no purchase orders and no parts reordering. For a lawn or cleaning business that's fine. For a plumbing shop carrying $8,000 of fittings and water heaters per van, it's a gap you'll fill with spreadsheets.

Reporting is basic below Plus. Core through Grow give you built-in reports. Custom reports, the ones that let you slice revenue by tech, job type or lead source the way you want, are a Plus feature at $399/mo and up.

Memberships aren't a first-class feature. You can run maintenance agreements as recurring jobs, but Jobber's published plan features don't include a membership program with member pricing and renewal tracking the way HVAC-focused platforms do.

No phone system of its own. Jobber's plans don't include a business phone line or call tracking. The AI Receptionist add-on at $29/mo is aimed at catching calls you'd otherwise miss, but if you need call recording and to know which ad made the phone ring, that's a separate tool and a separate bill.

Commitments are real commitments. The cheaper billing terms lock you in. Annual payments aren't refunded if you leave early, and every term auto-renews unless you switch it off.

Who should look elsewhere

If you run more than 10 trucks in HVAC or plumbing and sell from a flat-rate book with membership pricing, ServiceTitan is built for how you work. It costs several times more and takes longer to set up, but it handles call booking, pricebooks and memberships in a way Jobber doesn't try to.

If your team is large but your margins are thin, look at Service Fusion. Its Starter plan is $208/mo billed annually with unlimited users, which beats Jobber's per-bracket pricing once you're past 10 people.

If your phone is the business, as with locksmiths, garage door companies or appliance repair, Workiz was built around call tracking. Housecall Pro is the closest like-for-like alternative to Jobber for residential trades. It costs a bit more at the low end but includes up to 8 users on its top plan.

If you're a solo operator who only needs to send quotes and invoices, Jobber Core at $29/mo is fair, but a basic invoicing app may cover you until you hire.

Jobber compared with

Questions owners ask

Is Jobber worth it for a small business?

For most crews of 1 to 10 people, yes. The quoting, client hub and automatic follow-ups tend to pay for themselves in quotes that close and invoices that get paid faster. It's less worth it for a 12-truck HVAC company that needs flat-rate pricing, memberships and inventory, or for a solo operator who only sends a few invoices a month and can get by with a simpler invoicing app.

How much does Jobber cost per month?

As of October 2026, Jobber starts at $29/mo for Core (1 user, billed annually) and runs to $529/mo for Plus with 15 users billed annually. The plan most small crews pick, Grow, costs $149/mo for 1 user or $229/mo for 5 users on annual billing. Month-to-month with no commitment costs more: Grow with 5 users is $299/mo.

Does Jobber have a free trial?

Yes. Jobber offers a 14-day free trial with Grow-level features and no credit card required. If the trial ends before you add billing details, Jobber says your data is kept and you can pick up where you left off once you subscribe.

Can I cancel Jobber anytime?

Only on the no-commitment monthly option. If you pick the 1-year commitment billed monthly, you're on the hook for 12 months. If you pay annually up front, cancelling keeps access until the term ends, but the payment isn't refunded. All terms auto-renew unless you set them not to.

Does Jobber work with QuickBooks?

Yes, Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online, but the sync starts on the Connect plan. Core doesn't include it. If your bookkeeper works in QuickBooks Online, budget for Connect at $99/mo (1 user, annual) as your floor rather than Core at $29/mo.

Is Jobber good for HVAC companies?

It's good for residential HVAC shops with up to about 10 techs, especially ones doing a lot of maintenance visits that can run as recurring jobs. Larger HVAC companies that live on flat-rate pricebooks, membership programs and call-center booking usually find ServiceTitan or FieldEdge a better fit, at a much higher price.
