Is it worth it?
ServiceTitan can be worth the money for a 10-plus tech shop that will use the pricebook, memberships and reporting. For smaller shops, it's usually too much.
At third-party estimates of roughly $245 to $500 per tech per month, a 10-tech shop is spending $29,400 to $60,000 a year before implementation and Pro products. That pays off only if the software lifts average tickets and membership revenue, which takes a CSR team, a real pricebook and techs who sell from it. Shops under about 8 techs should compare lighter tools in our guide to software for hvac businesses before booking a demo.
ServiceTitan is quote-only. Its pricing page lists three packages (Starter, Essentials and The Works), all priced per technician, and every one says "Request Pricing." So any number you see online, including on this page, is an estimate from someone other than ServiceTitan. Here's what each package includes as of October 2026, what third-party sources report shops actually pay, what implementation and contracts look like, and the questions that get you a fair quote. We label every estimate and its source.

Solo owner-operator (1 tech)
$245
to $500/mo (third-party estimate, not published by ServiceTitan)
Starter (quote only)
Plus implementation reported in the thousands and an annual contract. A one-truck shop rarely gets enough from call booking and dispatch to justify it. Housecall Pro Basic is $59/mo billed annually and Jobber Core is $29/mo.
5-tech shop (5 techs)
$1,225
to $2,500/mo; about $1,500/mo at $300 per tech (third-party estimates)
Essentials (quote only)
Roughly $18,000 a year at $300 per tech, before implementation, Pro products and card fees. For comparison, Housecall Pro Essentials for up to 5 users is $149/mo billed annually.
15-tech shop (15 techs)
$3,675
to $7,500/mo; about $4,500/mo at $300 per tech (third-party estimates)
The Works (quote only)
Roughly $54,000 a year at $300 per tech. The Works is the package with customizable memberships, advanced reporting and commission tracking, which is what most 15-tech shops buy ServiceTitan for. Get the per-tech rate, contract length and renewal terms in writing.
Costs that don't show on the pricing page
| Implementation and onboarding | Not published; third parties report thousands of dollars Ask what the fee covers: data migration, pricebook setup, membership setup and training are each worth asking about. |
|---|---|
| Pro products | Not published Pricebook Pro, Marketing Pro, Contact Center Pro, Scheduling Pro, Dispatch Pro, Field Pro, Fleet Pro and the AI Virtual Agent are listed separately from the packages. Each is a line on your quote. |
| Payment processing | Not published Get the full rate schedule. On $300,000 a month in card payments, every quarter-point is $750 a month. |
| Annual contract and renewals | Contract length and escalation terms vary Owners commonly report annual contracts and price increases at renewal. Ask for a cap on increases in writing. |
| Package upgrades | Higher per-tech rate Mobile estimates start on Essentials. Memberships, advanced reporting and commissions need The Works. Buying low and upgrading later costs more per tech for every tech. |
| Staff time during setup | Your team's hours Say your office manager spends 10 hours a week for 8 weeks on setup at $30/hr. That's $2,400 of time you're paying for on top of any implementation fee. |
How ServiceTitan pricing works
ServiceTitan prices per technician, by package, on request. There's no public price list and no free trial. You book a demo, a rep scopes your shop, and you get a quote for a package plus any Pro products, an implementation fee, and contract terms.
That has two consequences. First, two shops of the same size can pay very different amounts. Second, almost everything is negotiable, but only if you know what to ask.
ServiceTitan is best for established residential and commercial HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors with multiple technicians and office staff. If you're a smaller shop, our guide to software for plumbing businesses covers tools with published prices and month-to-month options.
What each package includes, and leaves out
As of October 2026, ServiceTitan's package chart shows:
| Feature | Starter | Essentials | The Works |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dispatching and scheduling | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Call booking | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Invoicing | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Pricebook | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Mobile estimates | No | Yes | Yes |
| Payroll | No | Payroll management | Configurable payroll |
| Advanced reporting | No | No | Yes |
| Commission tracking | No | No | Yes |
| Customizable memberships | No | No | Yes |
The chart's formatting implies the features not listed for a package are excluded, but ServiceTitan doesn't say so outright. Confirm with your rep.
Starter is the office-side core: call booking, dispatch, scheduling, invoicing and the pricebook. What it leaves out matters. Without mobile estimates, techs can't build and present options in the home from the app, which is how most HVAC and plumbing shops sell replacements. Starter fits shops where the office does the selling, or where techs mostly run repair calls.
Essentials adds mobile estimates and payroll management. This is the realistic floor for a shop where techs sell in the field.
The Works adds configurable payroll, advanced reporting, commission tracking and customizable memberships. If memberships are a real revenue line, or you pay techs on commission, you need this package. Most shops that move to ServiceTitan for its reputation are really buying The Works.
What third parties say it costs
ServiceTitan doesn't publish any of these numbers. They come from third-party sources:
- Third-party estimates put ServiceTitan at roughly $245 to $500 per technician per month.
- CostBench reports user-reported costs around $300 per technician per month.
- Implementation and onboarding are reported in the thousands of dollars.
Applied to real shop sizes:
| Shop size | Monthly, $245 to $500 per tech | Monthly, ~$300 per tech | Yearly, ~$300 per tech |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 tech | $245 to $500 | $300 | $3,600 |
| 5 techs | $1,225 to $2,500 | $1,500 | $18,000 |
| 10 techs | $2,450 to $5,000 | $3,000 | $36,000 |
| 15 techs | $3,675 to $7,500 | $4,500 | $54,000 |
Those totals are before implementation, Pro products and payment processing. Third-party sources don't break the range down by package, so your quote is the only number that counts.
Implementation fees
Implementation is the cost owners most often underestimate. Third parties report it in the thousands of dollars, and public reviews commonly describe onboarding that takes weeks to a few months.
Ask exactly what the fee pays for. The bigger cost is your own team's time: cleaning customer and equipment data, building or mapping the pricebook, setting up memberships, and training CSRs, dispatchers and techs. Schedule implementation for your slow season, and don't go live in the month your phones are busiest.
Contracts and renewals
ServiceTitan's pricing page doesn't state contract terms. Owners commonly report annual contracts, and price increases at renewal are one of the most frequent complaints in public reviews.
Before you sign, get these in writing:
- Contract length and whether it auto-renews
- Notice period to cancel or not renew
- Any cap on price increases at renewal
- How techs are counted if your headcount drops mid-contract
- How you'd export your data if you leave
Pro products and add-ons
ServiceTitan lists a set of Pro products alongside its packages: Pricebook Pro, Marketing Pro, Contact Center Pro, Scheduling Pro, Dispatch Pro, Field Pro, Fleet Pro and an AI Virtual Agent. None has a published price. Older research refers to Phones Pro; Contact Center Pro appears to be the current name for the phone side.
Some of these are what you saw in the demo. Ask your rep to mark every feature shown as included in your package or sold separately. Owners commonly report in public reviews that Pro products were a big reason the final bill was higher than expected.
How to get a fair quote
- Know your count. Decide how many techs you'll license, and ask how office staff, apprentices and seasonal techs count.
- Pick the package by feature. If you need memberships, quote The Works. Don't let a low Starter price set your expectations.
- Quote Pro products separately. Ask whether each can be added later, and start with what you'll use in the first 90 days.
- Negotiate implementation. Ask what it covers and whether part of it can be credited or spread out.
- Negotiate renewal. A cap on increases at renewal is worth more over three years than a small first-year discount.
- Get a competing quote. FieldEdge is the most direct comparison. Third-party estimates put it around $100 to $150 per technician per month, but get its quote too.
How the yearly bill compares
Here's ServiceTitan's estimated subscription cost next to the published prices of its two most common alternatives, all billed annually, software only:
| Shop size | ServiceTitan (~$300/tech, third-party estimate) | Housecall Pro | Jobber Grow |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 techs | about $18,000 | $1,788 (Essentials) | $2,748 (5 users) |
| 15 techs | about $54,000 | $6,528 (MAX + 7 users at $35) | $4,788 (15 users) |
The gap is roughly 6 to 11 times. That alone doesn't make ServiceTitan a bad deal, and for a big HVAC or plumbing shop it's often the better software. The real test is whether the extra call booking, membership and reporting depth earns back $15,000 to $50,000 a year in your shop.
Is ServiceTitan worth it
It depends on whether you'll use the parts you're paying for. Here's a hypothetical: a 10-tech HVAC shop where each tech runs 60 paid calls a month. If better pricebook selling and membership offers raise the average ticket by $25, that's 600 calls × $25 = $15,000 a month in extra revenue. At about $3,000 a month in software (third-party estimate at $300 per tech), the math works with room to spare.
Now take a 4-tech shop running the same 60 calls per tech. The same $25 lift is $6,000 a month, against about $1,200 a month in software, plus implementation and staff time. It can still work, but only if the owner commits to the pricebook and training. If not, Housecall Pro Essentials at $149/mo billed annually covers most of what that shop needs.
Cheaper options
All as of October 2026:
- Housecall Pro Essentials is $149/mo billed annually for up to 5 users, with flat-rate pricing. MAX is $299/mo for up to 8 users and adds Recurring Service Plans for maintenance agreements.
- Jobber Grow is $229/mo billed annually for 5 users and $399/mo for 15 users, with job costing and two-way texting.
- Service Fusion charges a flat rate with unlimited users: Plus is $325/mo and Pro is $533/mo billed annually.
- FieldEdge is quote-only, aimed at the same HVAC and plumbing market, with third-party estimates around $100 to $150 per technician per month.
None of the published options matches ServiceTitan's call booking, memberships and reporting depth. Most shops under 10 techs don't need that depth yet.

Questions owners ask
How much does ServiceTitan cost per month?
ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices. Third-party estimates put it around $245 to $500 per technician per month, and CostBench reports user-reported costs around $300 per technician. A 5-tech shop would pay roughly $1,225 to $2,500 a month by those estimates, before implementation and add-ons. Get a written quote for your shop.
Does ServiceTitan charge an implementation fee?
ServiceTitan doesn't publish one, but third parties widely report implementation and onboarding costs in the thousands of dollars. The amount depends on your shop size, how much data you're moving and how much pricebook and membership setup you need. Ask for the fee and what it covers in writing.
Is ServiceTitan pricing per user or per technician?
Per technician, according to ServiceTitan's pricing page. Ask how office staff, apprentices, seasonal techs and inactive techs are counted, since that changes the total for most shops. A shop with 12 techs in summer and 8 in winter should know whether it pays for 12 all year.
Does ServiceTitan have a contract?
Owners commonly report annual contracts, and price increases at renewal are a frequent complaint in public reviews. ServiceTitan's pricing page doesn't state contract terms, so ask for the length, auto-renewal terms and any cap on increases before you sign.
Can you try ServiceTitan for free?
There's no free trial. ServiceTitan offers a free personalized demo and a tool on its pricing page to recommend a package. Ask for references from shops your size in your trade, since you can't test it on your own data the way you can with Jobber's or Housecall Pro's 14-day trials.
Why doesn't ServiceTitan list its prices?
ServiceTitan prices per technician and builds each quote around the package and Pro products you choose, so it sells through a demo and quote. That means prices vary between shops. It also means you have room to negotiate, especially on implementation, contract length and renewal caps.
