Housecall Pro Pricing: Every Plan, Hidden Costs & Real Quotes
Housecall Pro costs $59 to $299/mo billed annually for 1 to 8 users. Most 2-to-5-tech shops pay $149/mo on Essentials. A 15-tech shop on MAX pays about $544/mo at the listed extra-user price.

Is it worth it?
Housecall Pro is good value on Essentials and fair on MAX, as long as you pick the plan by feature, not by price.
Essentials at $149/mo billed annually for up to 5 users is one of the better deals in residential service software, with flat-rate pricing, GPS tracking and QuickBooks sync included. The value drops if you need one MAX feature, like Recurring Service Plans for maintenance agreements, because that's a $150/mo step. Get every add-on price in writing before you sign. If none of the plans fits your shop, compare the alternatives in our guide to field service management software.

Housecall Pro has three plans as of October 2026: Basic for 1 user, Essentials for up to 5, and MAX for up to 8, each cheaper if you pay annually. On paper it's one of the simpler pricing pages in field service software. In practice, two things complicate it: some of the features trade shops want most sit only on MAX, and several add-ons have no published price. This page shows every listed price, what each plan leaves out, the extra-user conflict you should know about, and what a solo operator, a 5-tech shop and a 15-tech shop would actually pay.

What a real shop pays for Housecall Pro
Solo owner-operator (1 user)
$59/mo
billed annually ($79 billed monthly)
Basic
Basic has no QuickBooks Online sync. If your bookkeeper works in QuickBooks Online, you need Essentials at $149/mo annually. Card fees on $15,000 a month at the 2.59% starting rate come to about $388.50. First-year software cost on Basic, annual: $708.
5-tech shop (5 users)
$149/mo
billed annually ($189 billed monthly)
Essentials
Essentials includes up to 5 users. Add an office manager and you're at 6, and Essentials extra-user pricing isn't published, so many shops end up on MAX at $299/mo. Card fees on $60,000 a month at 2.59% are about $1,554. First-year software cost on Essentials, annual: $1,788.
15-tech shop (15 users)
$544/mo
billed annually ($299 + 7 × $35)
MAX + 7 extra users
Billed monthly it's $329 + $245 = $574/mo. The vendor page lists extra MAX users at $35/mo; a third-party comparison cites $75, which would make it $824/mo annually. Confirm at signup. Card fees on $180,000 a month at 2.59% are about $4,662.
Costs that don't show on the pricing page
| Card processing | From 2.59% per card payment On $40,000 a month that's at least $1,036. The 'from' means your rate may be higher depending on your agreement and card mix, so get the full schedule in writing. |
|---|---|
| ACH bank payments | 1% A $9,000 system replacement paid by ACH costs $90 versus at least $233.10 by card. |
| Extra users | MAX: $35/mo per user (vendor page) A September 2026 third-party comparison lists $75 on MAX and $100 on Essentials, which conflicts with the official page. Basic and Essentials extra-user prices aren't published. Confirm on your order form. |
| Unpriced add-ons | Not published CSR AI, Pipeline, Voice, Campaigns, Payroll, Accounting, Business Coaching, VGPS/Dashcams, Tap to Pay and Websites are listed without prices. Ask for a written quote on each. |
| Sales proposal tool | Included in MAX; sold as an add-on otherwise Housecall Pro lists it as a '$40/mo value' on MAX. The add-on price for Basic and Essentials isn't shown. |
| Monthly billing premium | $240 to $480 a year Paying monthly instead of annually costs $240/yr more on Basic, $480/yr on Essentials and $360/yr on MAX. |
| Intro promos ending | Full price after the promo When we checked, Basic and Essentials showed $26 for the first month and MAX showed $99/mo for 3 months. Budget for the regular price from month two or four. |
How the plans differ
Housecall Pro prices by plan, and each plan includes a set number of users. As of October 2026:
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Users included | Yearly cost (annual billing) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $59/mo | $79/mo | 1 | $708 |
| Essentials | $149/mo | $189/mo | up to 5 | $1,788 |
| MAX | $299/mo | $329/mo | up to 8 | $3,588 |
The per-user math is the interesting part. Basic is $59 for one person. Essentials is $149 for up to five, under $30 a head if you use all five seats. MAX is $299 for up to eight, about $37 a head. If you have two or more people, Basic is almost never the right choice, and Essentials is the best per-seat price on the page.
What each plan leaves out
Basic includes online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, a price book, job costing and review management. That's a solid core. What it leaves out: QuickBooks Online sync, flat-rate pricing, GPS tracking, routes, checklists, photo reports and commissions. For a solo owner who keeps their own books, Basic is fine. For anyone with a bookkeeper on QuickBooks Online, it isn't.
Essentials adds routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports with annotations, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync. This is the plan most 2-to-5-tech shops should be on. What it leaves out: the sales proposal tool, Recurring Service Plans, route optimization, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.
MAX adds all of those. The one that pushes most trade shops up is Recurring Service Plans, the tool for running maintenance agreements. If you sell HVAC tune-up memberships, annual water heater flushes or quarterly service plans, you're realistically a MAX customer. Escalated phone support is the other reason. Support response times are a common complaint in public reviews, and MAX is the plan that buys you a faster line.
The extra-user question
This is the part of Housecall Pro's pricing that needs the most care.
Housecall Pro's own pricing page lists extra users on MAX at $35/mo each. A third-party comparison published in September 2026 cites $75 per extra user on MAX and $100 on Essentials. Those numbers can't both be right.
We go with the vendor page: $35/mo on MAX. But the gap is big enough to change your decision at 15 users:
- At $35 each, MAX with 15 users is $299 + 7 × $35 = $544/mo billed annually.
- At $75 each, the same setup is $299 + 7 × $75 = $824/mo.
That's a $3,360-a-year difference. Before you sign, ask your rep to put the extra-user price on the order form.
Essentials and Basic have no published extra-user price. If you're a 5-tech shop about to hire a sixth person, ask what adding one user to Essentials costs. If there's no clear answer, assume you're moving to MAX at $299/mo annually.
Add-ons
Housecall Pro lists a long menu of optional add-ons: CSR AI, Pipeline, Payroll, Accounting, Business Coaching, Voice, Campaigns, VGPS/Dashcams, Tap to Pay and Websites. None had a published price when we checked in October 2026.
The sales proposal tool is included in MAX, where Housecall Pro values it at $40/mo. It's also sold separately for the lower plans, at a price that isn't listed.
Owners commonly report in public reviews that the features they wanted turned out to be add-ons or MAX-only, and that the bill grew as a result. The fix is simple but tedious: write down every feature you expect to use, find out which plan or add-on it lives in, and get a written total before you commit.
Payment processing
Card processing starts at 2.59% and ACH costs 1%, as of October 2026. The word "from" matters. Your actual card rate depends on your processing agreement and the mix of cards your customers use, and the published figure doesn't say whether there's a per-transaction fee on top.
For a sense of scale, at the 2.59% floor:
| Monthly card volume | Processing at 2.59% | Same volume by ACH at 1% |
|---|---|---|
| $15,000 | $388.50 | $150 |
| $60,000 | $1,554 | $600 |
| $180,000 | $4,662 | $1,800 |
For most shops, processing costs more than the software. A 5-tech shop on Essentials pays $149/mo for the app and roughly ten times that in card fees. Push ACH on installs and replacements, and build card fees into your flat-rate prices rather than eating them.
Consumer financing is included on every plan, which is a real advantage for HVAC and plumbing replacements. Ask what the financing provider charges you, the contractor, per financed job, since that's a separate cost from card processing.
Contracts, trial and promos
Housecall Pro's pricing page says no long-term contracts are required. You can upgrade anytime with immediate access. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. Cancelling is described on the page as simple, through the Help Center or by phone. If you prepay a year, ask how unused months are handled before you pay.
The free trial is 14 days with full MAX features and no credit card. That's generous, but it can mislead you. Build your workflow around the plan you actually intend to buy, or you'll miss route optimization or service plans the day after you downgrade.
When we checked, there were intro promos: $26 for the first month on Basic and Essentials, and $99/mo for the first 3 months on MAX. Those are nice, but budget the full price from day one.
Which plan to pick
Solo, doing your own books: Basic at $59/mo annually. You get the price book, financing, online booking and review requests, which is most of what a one-truck shop needs.
Solo or 2-person shop with a bookkeeper on QuickBooks Online: Essentials at $149/mo annually. The sync alone justifies it once someone else is reconciling your invoices, and you'll grow into the extra seats.
3 to 5 techs, repair and replacement work: Essentials. Flat-rate pricing and photo reports earn their keep on every service call.
Any size, selling maintenance agreements: MAX at $299/mo annually. Recurring Service Plans is the reason, and the escalated support helps during your first peak season on the system.
6 to 8 users: MAX. It's the only plan that covers you without unpublished extra-user pricing.
9 to 15 users: MAX plus extra users. Get the per-user price on your order form. At the listed $35, a 12-user shop pays $299 + 4 × $35 = $439/mo on annual billing.
Is Housecall Pro worth the money
For a residential HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop with 2 to 5 techs, Essentials at $149/mo billed annually is fair value. Flat-rate pricing, GPS, checklists, photo reports, commissions and QuickBooks sync for up to five people is a lot of software for the money, and financing and review requests come along for free.
MAX at $299/mo is worth it if you need Recurring Service Plans or route optimization, or if you have 6 to 8 people. It's harder to justify if you're paying the extra $150/mo for one feature.
It's less worth it for solo operators who need QuickBooks sync, because the jump from Basic to Essentials is $90/mo for features a one-person shop mostly won't use. And it's a weaker deal for 15-plus person shops if the extra-user price on your order form turns out higher than $35.
Cheaper options
These are the published alternatives worth pricing, all as of October 2026:
- Jobber Core is $29/mo billed annually, and Connect (which includes QuickBooks Online sync) is $99/mo for 1 user. For a solo owner with a bookkeeper, Connect is $50/mo less than Housecall Pro Essentials. At 5 users, Jobber Connect is also $149/mo annually.
- Kickserv lists Start at $60/mo for 5 users and Run at $119/mo for 10 users, with 20% off for annual billing. Less trade-specific, much cheaper per seat.
- Service Fusion Starter is $208/mo billed annually with unlimited users. For a 15-person shop, that's well under MAX with seven extra seats.
- ServiceM8 starts at $29/mo for unlimited users and 50 jobs a month, priced by job volume rather than users.
None of these has Housecall Pro's mix of flat-rate pricing, financing and review management on the entry plans, so compare the plan you'd really need.

Use $35 for planning and confirm the number at signup.
Does Housecall Pro have a free plan or free trial?
There's no free plan. The free trial is 14 days with full MAX features and no credit card required. Housecall Pro says your data is kept if the trial ends before you subscribe, so you can pick up where you left off once you add billing details.
Is there a contract with Housecall Pro?
Housecall Pro's pricing page says no long-term contracts are required. You can upgrade anytime and get the new features right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. If you prepay annually, ask what happens to the remaining months if you cancel early.
Which Housecall Pro plan is best for HVAC?
For most HVAC shops with 2 to 5 techs, Essentials covers flat-rate pricing, GPS, checklists and QuickBooks sync. That's $299/mo billed annually for up to 8 users, and it also adds route optimization and escalated phone support.
Is Housecall Pro cheaper than ServiceTitan?
By a wide margin. ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices, but third-party estimates put it around $245 to $500 per technician per month, plus implementation fees. A 5-tech shop on Housecall Pro Essentials pays $149/mo billed annually. Even a 15-tech shop on MAX at about $544/mo is well under typical ServiceTitan estimates.
