Our verdict
FieldEdge is a good fit for established HVAC and plumbing service shops that run on flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks, especially Desktop.
Every plan includes a flat-rate pricebook, service agreements, integrated payments and a QuickBooks Online and Desktop sync, plus an onboarding specialist. Premier and Elite add multi-option quotes, advanced dispatching and stronger agreements. The downsides are no published pricing, no free trial, a dated interface and reports of QuickBooks sync hiccups. See our full list of software for hvac businesses before you book a demo.
FieldEdge pricing is quote-only and depends on how many technicians and office staff you have. There are three plans: Select with 2 mobile app licenses, Premier with 4 and Elite with 6. Third-party estimates put it around $100 per office user and $125 per technician a month, though FieldEdge doesn't publish numbers and there's no free trial. What you're paying for is a flat-rate pricebook, service agreements and one of the few tight syncs with both QuickBooks Online and Desktop. Here's what each plan includes and who should get a different quote.

What FieldEdge is
FieldEdge is field service management software for HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors. It covers call booking, work orders, scheduling, dispatching, flat-rate pricing, quotes, invoicing, payments, service agreements and reporting. Its long-standing selling point is its QuickBooks integration, with both QuickBooks Online and Desktop supported on every plan.
It sits between the small-shop apps like Jobber and Housecall Pro and the big platform, ServiceTitan. It's best for residential HVAC and plumbing service companies that sell from a flat-rate book and want maintenance agreements tracked properly. Plumbing shops comparing options should also look at our picks of software for plumbing businesses.
Call booking, scheduling and dispatch
Every plan includes call booking, work orders, scheduling and tech time tracking. Select has basic dispatching; Premier and Elite have advanced dispatching. For a shop running 8 trucks through a summer heat wave, the dispatch board is where your CSR lives all day, so look closely at it during the demo.
Integrated SMS texting, automated alerts and reminders are on every plan, so customers get appointment confirmations without the office calling.
Flat-rate pricebook and quotes
The pricebook with flat-rate pricing is on every plan. Techs pick the task, the customer sees one price, and you stop arguing about hours. That's how most residential HVAC and plumbing shops sell, and it's FieldEdge's core.
Quotes are where the plans split. Select allows single-option quotes. Premier and Elite allow multi-option quotes. If your techs present repair, upgrade and replacement options at the kitchen table, you need Premier at minimum. Proposal Pro, a more polished proposal tool, is call-for-pricing on Select and Premier and included on Elite.
Service agreements and memberships
Every plan includes service agreements: basic on Select, advanced on Premier and Elite. For an HVAC company, maintenance agreements are what keep techs busy in the shoulder seasons and what make the business worth more when you sell it. Ask the rep to show renewals, visit scheduling and agreement pricing on your own plans.
Invoicing, payments and QuickBooks
Invoices, purchases, integrated payments and QuickBooks Online and Desktop sync are on all plans. Elite adds warehouse inventory management, but only if you run QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise with Advanced Inventory.
Users commonly report occasional QuickBooks sync issues. During the first month, have your bookkeeper reconcile synced invoices and payments weekly instead of monthly.
The mobile app
Techs use the app for their schedule, job details, the pricebook, quotes, invoices and payments. Plans include 2, 4 or 6 mobile licenses. Users commonly report the interface feels dated and takes time to learn. Since there's no free trial, ask for a demo of the tech app specifically, not just the office side.
FieldEdge pricing in plain terms
As of October 2026, FieldEdge doesn't publish prices. The quote depends on your number of technicians and employees and which add-ons you pick. Here's what each plan includes:
| Select | Premier | Elite | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile licenses | 2 | 4 | 6 |
| Dispatching | Basic | Advanced | Advanced |
| Quotes | Single option | Multi-option | Multi-option |
| Service agreements | Basic | Advanced | Advanced |
| Reporting | Basic | 10 saved reports | Unlimited saved reports |
| Performance and commission | No | Yes | Yes |
| Call recording, warehouse inventory | No | No | Yes |
| Proposal Pro, MarketingEdge, Academy, customer portal | Call for pricing | Call for pricing | Included |
All plans include the flat-rate pricebook, QuickBooks Online and Desktop, integrated payments, SMS texting, custom forms, lead tracking and an onboarding specialist.
What third-party estimates say
None of these come from FieldEdge:
- One estimate, published by a competitor, puts it at about $100 per office user and $125 per technician per month.
- Other sources cite $100 to $150 per technician per month.
Rough math using the first estimate: about $350 a month for 2 techs and an office user, about $725 for 5 techs and an office user, and about $2,175 for 15 techs and 3 office staff. Use these to sanity-check a quote, not to budget.
Contract terms
FieldEdge says you can upgrade whenever you need to, but downgrades happen at the end of your current contract period. That means you're committing to a term. Ask how long it is, start on the plan you're sure you need, and upgrade later rather than overbuying.
Is it worth it
If you're an HVAC shop with 6 to 15 techs, $50,000 a month or more in service revenue, a flat-rate book and a few hundred maintenance agreements, FieldEdge's core tools pay for themselves through better agreement renewals and bigger tickets from multi-option quotes. Say Premier's multi-option quotes help each tech close one $400 upgrade a week. With 5 techs, that is about $8,600 a month in added sales.
If you're under 3 techs, the per-seat estimates make it expensive next to published-price tools.
Getting the most from the demo
With no free trial, the demo is your only look before you sign. Make it about your shop, not the sales deck.
- Send your pricebook ahead of time, or at least 20 of your most common flat-rate tasks, and ask them to load it.
- Have them build a real maintenance agreement with two visits a year, a member discount and an auto-renewal, then show what the renewal looks like 11 months later.
- Watch a tech's day on the mobile app, from arrival through a multi-option quote, payment and signature.
- Ask to see a synced invoice in QuickBooks, Online or Desktop, whichever you use.
- Get the quote broken down: per-tech price, per-office-user price, add-ons, contract length, and card and ACH rates.
- Ask about data export in case you leave.
Switching without losing summer
HVAC shops should never change systems in July. Plan to go live in early spring or mid-fall, when call volume dips between heating and cooling seasons. Plumbing shops in cold climates should avoid the first freeze.
FieldEdge includes an onboarding specialist on every plan. Use that time for the pricebook and agreements first, since those are what techs and customers touch. Bring over customers and equipment history next. Leave old invoices in your previous system or QuickBooks for reference rather than migrating years of history you'll rarely open.
Where it falls short
No pricing, no trial. You commit based on a demo.
Dated interface. Users commonly report it, along with a learning curve.
QuickBooks hiccups. The integration is the selling point, and users commonly report occasional sync issues anyway.
Add-ons on lower plans. Proposal Pro, MarketingEdge and the customer portal cost extra unless you're on Elite.
Who should look elsewhere
- Small shops wanting published prices. Service Fusion runs $208 to $533 a month billed annually with unlimited users; ServiceM8 runs $29 to $349 by job volume.
- Shops that want to try first. ServiceM8 has a 14-day free trial; Contractor Foreman has 30 days for project work.
- Larger HVAC companies with a call center and heavy marketing spend. ServiceTitan goes deeper there.
- Mixed service-and-project electrical shops. FieldPulse or Knowify may fit better.

Questions owners ask
How much does FieldEdge cost?
FieldEdge doesn't publish prices. As of October 2026, pricing is by quote and depends on how many technicians and employees you have and which add-ons you need. Third-party estimates, including one from a competitor, put it around $100 per office user and $125 per technician a month, and others cite $100 to $150 per technician.
Does FieldEdge have a free trial?
No. FieldEdge's pricing page says it doesn't offer a free trial. You book a demo and get a quote. Ask the rep to walk through your own pricebook and a real maintenance agreement during the demo, since you won't get to try it alone first.
What's the difference between FieldEdge Select, Premier and Elite?
Select includes 2 mobile licenses, basic dispatching, single-option quotes and basic service agreements. Premier includes 4 licenses and adds advanced dispatching, multi-option quotes, performance and commission tracking and advanced agreements. Elite includes 6 licenses, unlimited saved reports, call recording, warehouse inventory, MarketingEdge, Proposal Pro and the customer portal.
Does FieldEdge work with QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes. All three plans list QuickBooks Online and Desktop integration, which is less common than you'd think. Users commonly report occasional sync issues, so have your bookkeeper check the first month of synced invoices and payments closely. It is the feature you are paying for, so make sure it works.
Is FieldEdge better than ServiceTitan for a small HVAC shop?
For many shops under about 20 techs, FieldEdge is the lighter, simpler choice with the core HVAC tools: flat-rate pricebook, service agreements and QuickBooks sync. ServiceTitan goes deeper on call center, marketing and reporting. Both are quote-only, so get numbers from each.
