The short answer

Our pick

Jobber is the best CRM for most home service businesses.

Client and property records, requests, quotes with automatic follow-ups and a client hub sit in the same system that schedules and invoices the work. Pick Housecall Pro if reviews and marketing are your growth plan, or ServiceTitan once you have a call center and a dozen-plus techs.

A home service business doesn't need Salesforce. It needs to know who called, what they were quoted, whether anyone followed up, what was done at that address last time and when the next maintenance visit is due. That's a CRM, and for most shops under 25 techs the best one is built into field service software rather than bought separately. This page compares the CRM side of six tools, with prices as of October 2026. For CRMs across every trade, including construction, see our list of the best crm for contractors.

Our picks, in detail

Jobber logo

Our pickBest overall

Jobber

The easiest all-rounder for small residential crews

4.1out of 5

Jobber's CRM is the client record: contact info, multiple properties per client, every request, quote, job and invoice, and notes the tech can see on site. The client hub lets customers approve quotes, pay and request work without calling. Automated quote and invoice follow-ups start on Connect ($99/mo billed annually for 1 user, $149/mo for 5 users, as of October 2026), and that's the feature that turns 'I'll think about it' into booked work. Jobber also sells Pipeline as a $49/mo add-on for lead tracking and Marketing Suite at $99/mo. Owners commonly say costs climb as add-ons pile up.

What we like

  • Multiple properties per client, full job history
  • Automatic quote follow-ups on Connect
  • Client hub for approvals, payments and requests

Watch out for

  • Pipeline and marketing tools cost extra
  • Reporting is basic on lower plans
Housecall Pro logo

Best for reviews and marketing

Housecall Pro

Strong marketing tools and a fast mobile app

4.1out of 5

Housecall Pro puts more of the marketing side in the base product. Review management, online booking, the price book and job costing are on the Basic plan ($59/mo billed annually for 1 user, as of October 2026). Essentials ($149/mo annual, up to 5 users) adds flat-rate pricing and checklist automations, and MAX ($299/mo annual, up to 8 users) adds recurring service plans, which is the CRM feature an HVAC or plumbing shop with maintenance agreements really needs. A Pipeline add-on for lead follow-up is offered, but its price isn't published. Owners commonly report many advanced features sit on MAX or in add-ons.

What we like

  • Review management on the Basic plan
  • Online booking included
  • Recurring service plans on MAX

Watch out for

  • Maintenance plans need the $299/mo MAX plan
  • Add-on prices aren't published
ServiceTitan logo

Best for larger shops

ServiceTitan

Heavy-duty platform for established HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops

3.8out of 5

ServiceTitan is the CRM for an established residential HVAC, plumbing or electrical company with CSRs taking calls. Call booking, memberships, equipment history, marketing attribution and a deep price book are its strengths. It doesn't publish pricing. Third-party estimates put it around $245 to $500 per technician per month, with implementation reported in the thousands of dollars (not published by the vendor). Owners commonly report annual contracts, a long onboarding and price increases at renewal. For a three-truck shop, it's too much software.

What we like

  • Membership and equipment history built for HVAC and plumbing
  • Call booking and marketing attribution
  • Scales to large teams

Watch out for

  • Quote-only; third-party estimates run $245-$500 per tech per month
  • Long onboarding and annual contracts
Workiz logo

Best for phone-driven leads

Workiz

Built-in phones and call tracking for on-demand service work

3.8out of 5

If your leads come in by phone (garage door, locksmith, appliance repair), Workiz's CRM ties calls to customers and jobs through its Genius phone tools, so you can see which ad drove which call. It also covers estimates, invoices, a customer portal and reviews. Two things to know: Workiz moved to quote-only pricing in 2026, and its phone, AI answering and marketing features are sold separately. Its 7-day trial is short, so set up call forwarding on day one.

What we like

  • Calls linked to customer records
  • Built for same-day, call-in work
  • Reviews and customer portal included

Watch out for

  • Quote-only pricing as of October 2026
  • Phone and marketing features cost extra
GorillaDesk logo

Best for route-based services

GorillaDesk

Affordable, easy route software for pest and pool pros

4.2out of 5

GorillaDesk is the pick for pest control, pool and lawn route businesses that live on recurring service. It prices by route, not by user: Basic is $49/mo for one route with unlimited users, with more routes $30 to $50 each, as of October 2026. Customer records carry service history and recurring schedules, and it includes free data migration. SMS is billed separately ($5/mo for a number, plus credits), and owners commonly say reporting is basic next to PestPac or FieldRoutes.

What we like

  • Route-based pricing with unlimited users
  • Free data migration
  • Built for recurring service

Watch out for

  • SMS costs extra
  • Reporting is basic for larger operations
Kickserv logo

Best budget option

Kickserv

Plain, affordable job management for small teams

3.7out of 5

Kickserv is the cheapest way to get a working customer database and job history for a small team: Start is $60/mo for 5 users, Run $119/mo for 10, with 20% off annual billing, as of October 2026. You get customer records, estimates, a customer portal and QuickBooks sync, and a 30-day trial. Owners commonly say the interface feels dated and automation is limited, so don't expect automatic follow-up sequences.

What we like

  • 5 users for $60/mo
  • Customer portal and QuickBooks sync
  • 30-day trial

Watch out for

  • Limited automation and reporting
  • Dated interface

What home service businesses need from a CRM

The money in a home service CRM is in four places, and none of them is a fancy sales pipeline.

  • Every address remembers its history. When a customer calls about her furnace, whoever answers should see the last three visits, the unit's model and age, and the note that the attic hatch is in the closet. Landlords and property managers need many properties under one customer.
  • Unsold estimates get followed up. It's easy to send a $9,000 system replacement quote and never call back. An automatic reminder after three days and seven days books work you already paid to estimate.
  • Recurring work renews itself. Maintenance agreements, quarterly pest service, weekly pool cleaning. The CRM should schedule the next visit and bill it without anyone remembering.
  • Happy customers get asked for a review. A text after the job with a review link, sent while the tech is still in the driveway.

How the picks compare

Jobber and Housecall Pro cover all four for most shops. Jobber is stronger on quote follow-up and the client hub; Housecall Pro is stronger on reviews and online booking at its entry price, but saves recurring service plans for MAX. ServiceTitan is in a different weight class: worth it for a 15-tech shop with CSRs and memberships, painful for a three-truck shop. Workiz and GorillaDesk are trade fits, for call-in repair and route service. Kickserv is the budget pick that covers customer records and job history without much automation.

How a CRM pays for itself

Run the numbers on follow-ups alone. Say you send 20 replacement or repair quotes a month averaging $3,000, and you close 6 of them. If automatic reminders close just one more a month, that's $3,000 in extra revenue against a CRM bill of $99 to $299. Add a review request on every job and a maintenance renewal that schedules itself, and the software is the cheapest salesperson you'll have.

The flip side: none of that happens if the office doesn't log every call and every quote. A CRM is only as good as the habit of putting every lead into it, including the ones that come in by text to the owner's cell phone.

Picking by trade

  • HVAC and plumbing with maintenance agreements: Housecall Pro MAX or Jobber; ServiceTitan once you have CSRs and 10+ techs.
  • Pest, pool and lawn routes: GorillaDesk, or Jobber for lawn crews that also sell one-off projects.
  • Call-in repair (garage door, locksmith, appliance): Workiz.
  • Small crew on a tight budget: Kickserv.

What to look for before you sign

  • Multiple properties per customer, each with its own history.
  • Quote follow-ups on your plan, not the next one up (Jobber starts them on Connect).
  • Recurring service and maintenance plans included or priced in writing.
  • Review requests that send automatically after the job.
  • Lead source tracking, so you know which ad or referral produced the job.
  • Data export, customers, properties and job history, before you load years of records.

What it costs

Prices as of October 2026, billed annually where offered.

Tool 1 user 5 users 15 users
Jobber (Connect) $99/mo $149/mo $299/mo
Housecall Pro $59/mo (Basic) $149/mo (Essentials) MAX $299/mo + 7 users at $35 = about $544/mo
GorillaDesk (Basic) $49/mo per route $49/mo per route, unlimited users Priced by routes, not users
Kickserv (monthly) $60/mo (5 users) $60/mo $199/mo (Scale, 20 users)
ServiceTitan Quote only Quote only Third-party estimates $245-$500 per tech per month

Add-ons are the swing factor. Jobber's Pipeline ($49/mo) and Marketing Suite ($99/mo) can push a five-user Connect account from $149 to nearly $300 a month. Price the CRM you'll actually use, not the base plan. And if you're sorting out more than the CRM, our guide to software for contractors and trades covers the rest of a small shop's stack.

Questions owners ask

Do home service businesses need a separate CRM?

Usually not. Most shops under 25 techs are better off using the CRM inside their field service software, because the customer record, job history and invoices stay in one place. A separate CRM like HubSpot makes sense only if you run a real sales team with long sales cycles, such as remodeling or solar.

What is field service CRM software?

It's a CRM built around service visits instead of sales deals. Instead of a pipeline of opportunities, the core record is a customer and their properties, with every quote, job, invoice, photo and piece of equipment attached. Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan are field service CRMs in this sense.

Which CRM is best for HVAC maintenance agreements?

For a small shop, Housecall Pro MAX ($299/mo billed annually, up to 8 users, as of October 2026) includes recurring service plans. Jobber handles recurring jobs on its standard plans. ServiceTitan has the deepest membership tools but is quote-only and built for larger companies.

How much does a CRM for home services cost?

As of October 2026, entry plans run $29/mo (Jobber Core, annual, 1 user) to $59/mo (Housecall Pro Basic, annual). For five users, expect roughly $60/mo (Kickserv Start) to $149/mo (Jobber Connect or Housecall Pro Essentials, annual). ServiceTitan is quote-only.
