GorillaDesk Review & Pricing: Plans, Costs and Verdict

GorillaDesk is the best-value route software for small pest, pool and lawn shops. You pay per route, not per person, and most owners should start on Pro.

Our verdict

GorillaDesk is the value pick for pest, pool and lawn shops with one to ten routes.

If you run recurring routes and want chemical records, device barcoding and autopay without paying per seat, GorillaDesk Pro at $99 a month for the first route is hard to beat. It gets thinner once you need deep reporting, commercial account structures or heavy customization, which is where FieldRoutes and PestPac earn their higher quotes. If you're still comparing, see our roundup of software for pest control businesses.

Small pest & pool routes

GorillaDesk prices by route instead of by user, which makes it one of the cheapest serious options for a small pest control, pool or lawn company running recurring stops. As of October 2026, plans run $49, $99 and $149 per month for the first route, extra routes cost $30 to $50 each, and you can add as many office staff and phones as you like. The catch is in the details: SMS is billed separately, the cheapest plan caps routing at 25 stops, and device barcoding and QuickBooks sync sit on Pro. Here is what each plan includes and what a 1, 3 or 6-route shop really pays.

What GorillaDesk is

GorillaDesk is scheduling, routing, invoicing and customer management software built for recurring route businesses, mainly pest control, pool service and lawn care. It's a cloud app with iOS and Android apps for techs. The pitch is simple: you pay for each route on the calendar, not for each person who logs in, and you get chemical tracking and route tools that generic field service apps often skip.

That pricing model matters more than any feature. A three-truck pest company with an office manager, an owner and a part-time CSR pays for three routes, not six seats. GorillaDesk also says there are no setup fees, no contracts, free data migration and unlimited training, which removes most of the up-front risk.

Recurring routes and scheduling

Recurring work is where GorillaDesk earns its keep. You set a customer on a quarterly general pest service, a monthly mosquito treatment or a weekly pool visit, and the jobs land on the calendar with job and customer mapping. Advanced invoice frequencies let you bill differently from how you service, which helps when a customer pays monthly for a quarterly program.

Routing differs by plan:

  • Basic includes basic routing, limited to 25 stops at a time. A pest tech running 14 to 18 stops a day won't notice. A pool tech running 30 stops will.
  • Pro adds Drive Matrix routing, which GorillaDesk says uses real-time street routing and drive times.
  • Growth adds drive time on the schedule, a "best available time" suggestion when you book or move a job, and Job Magnet, which pulls nearby jobs together to tighten a route.

For callbacks and re-services, the calendar and broadcast messaging handle the basics. Triggered automations (on all plans) cover appointment confirmations, reminders and late-payment messages by email and SMS.

Chemical records, devices and service tickets

Material tracking and reporting is included on Basic, and GorillaDesk pitches it as a way to keep accurate chemical use records. For pest and lawn operators, that's the record of product, amount and target pest that most state regulators expect you to keep. Requirements vary by state, so check that the fields you need print on the service ticket before you retire your paper logs.

Pro adds device tracking and barcoding, which lets techs scan traps, bait stations and monitoring devices on site and see trend reports later. That's the feature that makes GorillaDesk viable for light commercial work, such as a restaurant account with interior glue boards and exterior rodent stations. Pro also adds multi-dwelling unit management for apartment complexes, document and e-signature support for service agreements, and time clocking.

Payments and billing

GorillaDesk doesn't run its own payment processing. It connects to Stripe and Square. Stripe handles subscription billing and autopay. Square lets techs swipe cards with Square hardware in the field. You can connect both. Card fees are whatever Stripe or Square charges you.

Automated subscription billing through Stripe and Square sits on Pro, and so does QuickBooks Online sync. For most recurring-service companies, those two features alone are the reason to skip Basic. Chasing quarterly payments by hand on 300 accounts is exactly the job you bought software to stop doing.

GorillaDesk pricing in plain terms

As of October 2026, GorillaDesk has three plans, each priced for the first route with unlimited admin users and mobile devices. Yearly billing gives you one month free, so yearly totals are 11 times the monthly price for one route: $539, $1,089 and $1,639.

Routes Basic Pro Growth
1 route $49/mo $99/mo $149/mo
3 routes $149/mo $199/mo $249/mo
6 routes $239/mo $349/mo $399/mo

How the route math works: on Basic, routes 2 and 3 cost $50 each and route 4 onward costs $30 each, so six routes is $49 + $100 + $90 = $239. On Pro and Growth, every extra route is $50, so six routes on Pro is $99 + $250 = $349. If you bill yearly and add a route mid-year, GorillaDesk says to contact its customer success team.

Basic ($49/mo) covers invoices, estimates and work orders, mapping, 25-stop routing, Square and Stripe connections, broadcast messaging, material tracking, triggered automations, automated reminders and 20 built-in reports. It's fine for a solo tech who invoices on the spot and doesn't need autopay.

Pro ($99/mo) is the plan most shops should buy. It adds the customer portal, online booking, Stripe and Square subscriptions, Drive Matrix routing, review requests, e-signatures, device barcoding, multi-unit properties, sales and production commission tracking, QuickBooks Online sync, GPS tracking, email inbox sync, Zapier, API access and time clocking.

Growth ($149/mo) adds map measuring tools for estimates, drive time and best-available-time scheduling, Job Magnet, estimate packages with good-better-best options, a sales pipeline with reporting, custom fields and job statuses, and multi-branch support. It's for shops with someone actively selling, such as door-to-door reps or a lawn company quoting by square footage.

The costs on top are texting and card fees. The SMS number is $5/mo, and credits run $50 per 1,000 texts, $100 per 2,500 or $200 per 8,000. A 300-customer monthly route sending a reminder and a completion text uses about 600 texts a month, which works out to about $20 a month on the biggest pack.

Monthly plans can be canceled any time, and GorillaDesk says you can freeze the account if your business is seasonal. That helps northern lawn and pool companies that go quiet from November to March.

Where GorillaDesk falls short

Owners commonly report that reporting is basic compared with PestPac and FieldRoutes. Twenty built-in reports cover revenue, jobs and chemical use, but if you want branch-level profitability, tech productivity by service type or deep commercial audit packets, you'll be exporting to a spreadsheet.

Customization is the other common complaint from larger operations. Custom fields and job statuses only arrive on Growth, and even then you're working inside GorillaDesk's structure.

Migration has a real limit. GorillaDesk imports contacts, addresses, notes and starting balances, but not complete past service or billing history. Plan to keep read-only access to your old system, or a full export, for chemical application records you may need to produce later.

Texting isn't included on any plan. It's cheap, but it's another line item to budget.

Who should look elsewhere

If you run several branches or a large commercial book, PestPac and FieldRoutes are built for that scale, at quote-only prices. If you're a pool-only company, Skimmer prices per pool and puts water chemistry at the center, which many pool operators prefer; GorillaDesk is also a reasonable pick in our guide to software for pool service businesses. If you mostly do one-off jobs rather than recurring routes, a general field service tool such as Jobber may fit better. For anyone with one to ten routes who wants low cost and unlimited users, GorillaDesk Pro is where we'd start the free trial.

Questions owners ask

How much does GorillaDesk cost per month?

As of October 2026, GorillaDesk costs $49/mo on Basic, $99/mo on Pro and $149/mo on Growth for one route. Extra routes are $50 each on Pro and Growth. On Basic, routes 2 and 3 are $50 each and every route after that is $30. Paying yearly gets you one month free, so Pro for one route is $1,089 a year.

What counts as a route in GorillaDesk?

A route is a schedule. GorillaDesk's rule of thumb: if your techs ride solo, each tech needs a schedule. If two people ride together in one truck, only the crew lead needs one. Office staff and helpers who aren't assigned a schedule get free logins on every plan.

Does GorillaDesk charge for text messages?

Yes. Texting needs a $5/mo SMS number, then you buy prepaid credits: $50 for 1,000 texts, $100 for 2,500 or $200 for 8,000. Credits don't expire and only outgoing messages use them. A shop sending a reminder and a completion text to 300 monthly customers uses about 600 texts a month.

Can GorillaDesk track chemical use and bait stations?

Material tracking for chemical use records is included on every plan, including Basic. Device tracking and barcoding, which lets techs scan traps and bait stations and see activity trends, starts on Pro. State recordkeeping rules vary, so confirm the fields your state requires are captured before you drop paper logs.

Will GorillaDesk move my data from my old software?

GorillaDesk says migration is free and its team will import contact information, service and billing addresses, notes and a starting balance. It does not import complete past service or billing history, so export your old application records and invoices and keep them somewhere you can reach during an inspection.

Is GorillaDesk good for pool service?

It works well for small pool routes that want per-route pricing and unlimited users, and GorillaDesk markets a pool version. A pool-only company that wants chemical readings, dosing guidance and service emails built around water chemistry may prefer Skimmer, which prices per pool instead of per route.
